The climatic conditions and rainfall vary significantly across the North Western NSW region. The Eastern tableland areas are cold in winter with an annual rainfall of up to 1200mm, while the Western part of the tablelands only has 650mm.
The rainfall in the east of the North Western slopes and plains is over 650mm, and 500mm in the western areas.
These weather patterns make rain water harvesting, river extraction and borehole usage the key sources of water for the region. All of which require water tanks as part of the water supply system.
