Mudgee is a town in the Central West of New South Wales, in the fertile Cudgegong River valley. The Mudgee district lies across the edge of the Sydney Basin.
Mudgee’s climate is hot with frequent thunderstorms in Summer, and winters are interspersed with periods of heavy rain, frost and, occasionally, snow.
Rainfall is moderate and falls fairly evenly all year round, with a slight peak in summer. The highest monthly rainfall ever recorded in Mudgee was 303.2 mm, recorded in 1926.
