The Central Coast has a humid subtropical climate, with warm summers and relatively mild winters. The rainfall is reasonably evenly spread throughout the year, with slightly higher rainfall in Autumn.
The average annual rainfall is up to 1,100mm per annum; with higher averages closer to the coast and the upper Hunter Valley having a lower average. This makes the installation of water tanks very cost effective, as there is regular rainwater harvesting to keep the tank topped up.
