Bushmans are giving back to the land through Landcare Australia. There is a natural synergy between our two organisations and a partnership has been established between Bushman and Landcare Australia. This partnership operates with two distinctive activities.
Background – Landcare Australia
Landcare Australia is the national not-for profit and registered charity that works in partnership with multiple stakeholders to support the Australian regional community with funding and capacity building opportunities for on-ground environmental projects. The organisation develops campaigns to raise awareness about landcare to increase participation and to attract corporate and philanthropic support.
Landcare Australia started in 1989. The mission of the organisation is to encourage a sustainable, integrated approach to agriculture and environmental management through local community groups. The broader vision of Landcare Australia is for all Australians to actively care for the land and water. Today, Landcare Australia is the leader in agricultural and environmental management.
Partnership between Bushmans Tanks and Landcare Australia
Bushmans Tanks, similarly has a long history and a vision – Saving Australia’s Water – which aligns well with Landcare Australia’s mission. There is a natural synergy between our two organisations and a partnership has been established between Bushmans and Landcare Australia.
This partnership operates with two distinctive activities:
1. Landcare Junior Landcare Grants Program
Landcare Junior Landcare – “Junior Landcare is about encouraging young people to play an active role in ensuring the safe future of their environment.”
Education is the key entrance point to so many important things in life. To teach our kids about sustainable agriculture and protecting our rural environment provides insight into the land and environment’s importance, encourages a sense of ownership and responsibility. This lays the foundation for Landcare Australia’s Junior Grants Program, whose objective is that future generations will take interest in and look after the land.
Bushmans has partnered with Landcare Australia to distribute Junior Landcare Grants to selected schools in NSW, QLD, SA and VIC.
The Bushmans Junior Landcare Grants Program provides invited schools to apply for of up to $1,000 to fund an environmental project with a focus on water conservation. Projects can include, but are not limited to, enhancing habitats, bush tucker gardens, vegetable gardens and recycling projects which focus on conserving water. All project applications must include a summer break water strategy to ensure that the project will survive the summer school break. A total of 15 Bushmans Junior Landcare Grants of up to $1,000.00 (ex GST) each, will be offered.
2. The Winter Promotion
The second leg of our partnership is during the Winter Promotion (1 July – 30 September).
Bushman are giving back to the land through Landcare Australia by donating $20 for each promotional tank sold during the promotional period:
“Buy one of these tanks and we’ll donate $20 to Landcare Australia”.
Bushmans are very excited about the partnership and for the opportunity to give back to the land through Landcare Australia.
