Organisations that can apply for the award have to meet the following criteria
- Must be an Australian organisation.
- Can be a non-profit organisation or for-profit business or organisation.
- Demonstrate a commitment to saving water and supporting the sustainable management of water resources.
- To earn the gold award: the mission of the organisation must involve: saving water; having an initiative to save water; providing resources or educational material on water-saving to communities, in Australia.
