Schools receive Bushmans Junior Landcare grants

Bushmans and Landcare Australia have a strong partnership, and Bushmans are committed to the Bushmans Junior Landcare Grant. This year, over 400 primary and secondary schools in New South Wales, Queensland, South Australia and Victoria were invited to apply for the Bushmans Junior Landcare Grant 2020.

Landcare Australia contacted over 400 primary and secondary schools in New South Wales, Queensland, South Australia, and Victoria to apply for the Bushmans Junior Landcare Grant 2020. North Queensland was added to the list of targeted regions from last year’s round.

Last year Bushmans invited schools to apply for the Junior Landcare grant. Bushmans donated $15,000 to the selected primary schools.

The importance of Junior Landcare is demonstrated by Landcare Australia recent announcement that the Victorian Government is giving $409,500 in funding to support 113 projects through the 2020 Victorian Junior Landcare and Biodiversity Grants, delivered in partnership with Landcare Australia.

The funded projects are supporting the next generation of Landcarers to protect biodiversity through activities and actions on the ground, with the aim to develop and rebuild habitat for Victoria’s native plants and animals. The projects’ activities work towards environmental and educational results, in tandem with achieving health and social benefits. Grants of up to $5,000 each are supporting Victorian primary and secondary schools, kindergartens, pre-schools, childcare centres, and youth groups.
